Advertising Professor Wei-Na Lee has been elected vice president of the American Academy of Advertising (AAA), a national organization of advertising scholars and professionals with an interest in advertising and advertising education.
Her term runs January through December 2010. Among other responsibilities of the office, she will help organize the 2010 annual conference program and edit the proceedings.
Lee’s research includes cross-cultural consumer behavior, multicultural marketing communication and consumer behavior in a technology-mediated environment. She co-edited the 2005 book “Diversity in Advertising.” Lee received the AAA’s Research Fellowship in 1992, 2002 and 2004.
Professors in the Department of Advertising have served in a variety of AAA leadership roles over the years, including John D. Leckenby (emeritus), Jef Richards and Patricia Stout as president, and Gary Wilcox as vice president.
