The University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing has established the Honor a Nurse fundraising program to give recognition to nurses who have made a difference.

The Honor a Nurse program supports the Nursing Alumni Reunion Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarships for students with financial need. The School of Nursing will recognize gifts by sending a personalized card to the honored nurses and recognizing them on the school’s Web site, in its electronic newsletter and on the School of Nursing Alumni Network Facebook page.

“By making a tax-deductible gift to the School of Nursing through its Honor a Nurse program, you will not only be supporting the scholarship fund, but will have the opportunity to honor a nurse who has helped change someone’s life,” said Alisa Cohen Victoria, director of development for the school.

“What a better way to show appreciation to these men and women who have devoted their lives to caring for us and keeping us healthy. This is your chance to return the kindness that they share every day.”

May is National Nurses month. Gifts can be received by May 12, which marks Florence Nightingale’s birthday and International Nurses Day. Contact Claire Massey at 512-471-9908 or visit the Honor a Nurse Web page for more information or to make an honorarium.
