Accounting professor to work for SEC

John Robinson, the C. Aubrey Smith professor in accounting, has been selected as an Academic Accounting Fellow for the United States Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Corporation Finance. Academic Fellows are a research resource for the staff on financial reporting and auditing issues.

John Robinson, the C. Aubrey Smith professor in accounting, has been selected as an Academic Accounting Fellow for the United States Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Corporation Finance. Academic Fellows are a research resource for the staff on financial reporting and auditing issues. Robinson will address issues involving difficult and unusual accounting, auditing and financial reporting questions, participate in rulemaking projects and review filings by public companies to identify significant accounting and disclosure problems. He will serve a one-year term in Washington, D.C., beginning Aug. 1.
