The Senate of College Councils is hosting Faculty Appreciation Week March 1-5. Faculty will be treated to breakfasts, lunches, discounts at local restaurants and UT Athletics events, receptions and more.
Since 1999 the Senate of College Councils, the student governance organization that represents students in academic affairs, has celebrated the university’s world-renowned faculty members and encouraged student-faculty interactions. Students have been encouraged to write thank-yous to faculty members during Faculty Appreciation Week. The senate is hoping more than 1,000 thanks-yous will be given out.
Faculty have also been invited to attend the Senate’s Professor of the Year award reception. The senate named Dr. Debbie Volker from the School of Nursing as the Senate’s 2010 Professor of the Year at the Texas-Oklahoma basketball game on Monday (March 1).
