About 50,000 visitors came from all parts of Texas, including more than 16,000 K-12 schoolchildren who arrived in 430 buses from 247 schools and 118 school districts, from as far away as El Paso in west Texas, Donna in the Rio Grande Valley and Plano in north Texas.

Explore UT offers more than 400 events, performances, exhibits, lectures and hands-on activities, which are led by faculty, staff and students.

The event is organized by the university’s Office of Relationship Management and University Events. The heart was created by Shaun Albrechtson, director of production. The background music for the slideshow is a recording of “Deep in the Heart of Texas” performed by the Longhorn Band.
