Event: Student Government at The University of Texas at Austin announces the results of a one-day fundraising initiative, “Hold Up for Haiti.” Leaders from Student Government, the Student Volunteer Board and Texas Roundtable, an organization composed of 15 service and spirit organizations, recruited and organized more than 500 students to raise money on Feb. 6 for campus-wide relief efforts for Haiti. Eugene Sepulveda, chief executive officer of the Entrepreneurs Foundation of Central Texas, will announce his organization’s matching gift. The University Federal Credit Union, the University of Texas Police Department and Simon Malls aided the students’ fundraising efforts.
