The University of Texas at Austin has been recognized by The Chronicle of Higher Education as one of the “Great Colleges to Work For.” The survey is one of the largest workplace-recognition programs in the country, right behind Fortune’s “100 Best Companies to Work For.”
Of the 275 colleges that participated in the survey, 97 were selected for the listing.
The chosen colleges stood out in at least one of the 12 categories identified by The Chronicle as core attributes of a great academic workplace: collaborative governance; compensation and benefits; confidence in senior leadership; diversity; facilities, workspaces and security; job satisfaction; professional/career development programs; respect and appreciation; supervisor or department chair relationship; teaching environment; tenure clarity and process; and work/life balance.
The University of Texas at Austin was recognized in two categories: job satisfaction and supervisor or department chair relationships.
