The University Telephone Operators answer The University of Texas at Austin’s main telephone number, 512-471-3434 or “0” from on campus, providing university directory information and call routing. Operators also dispense general information about the university and assist callers with features of the university telephone system.
Effective Monday, Aug. 30, the hours for the main telephone operators changed to 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The operators provide not only phone number information, but also addresses of specific buildings on campus, school/holiday closure information, contact information, athletic event information and all types of helpful information to people who call campus. They are the front door to the university.
