The University of Texas at Austin has announced the establishment of the Sandra and Stanley Rosenberg Endowed Excellence Fund in Business and Law, marking a significant milestone during the university’s Campaign for Texas.
The Rosenbergs committed $500,000 to establish the endowment. Their gift will be matched through the McCombs Matching Program established by fellow San Antonian Red McCombs, to create a total fund of $1 million.
“We’re especially pleased that the Rosenberg gift represents the 500th endowment established by McCombs School of Business,” said school Dean Thomas W. Gilligan. “This endowment is personally significant for me because it supports a cross-disciplinary effort between McCombs and The University of Texas Law School. I’ve always believed that when we can reach across campus like this it gives our students a superior educational experience.”
“It just shows I’m lucky!” Stanley Rosenberg said of being the 500th endowment donor at McCombs. “I was fortunate enough to get my business degree and my law degree here, and Sandra and I have three grandchildren at the university. I’m so pleased I can invest in a mission of such significance to me and all of Texas.”
The couple previously created an endowment in the Law School and a professorship at the McCombs School of Business.
Lawrence Sager, dean of the Law School, praised Stanley Rosenberg as a “lion of the San Antonio bar,” and a graduate “of whom we are justly proud, and to whom we are deeply grateful.”
