Background: Recent legal developments related to fair housing opportunities for low-income persons of color will be examined in this conference. Topics include how the legal action involving $1.7 billion in federal Community Development Block Grant funding, along with other national legal developments, will affect the way Texas and its cities plan for new development and allocate billions of dollars in federal resources for housing and community development.
The conference will bring together top national experts and leading local practitioners, including keynote speaker Mercedes Márquez, assistant secretary for community planning and development at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
