From the University Unions:
The University Unions Student Activity Center (SAC) opened its doors Tuesday to the public.
Located at 2201 Speedway, the SAC provides additional student space for diverse social, cultural, educational and recreational programs. The building features a variety of unique, informal lounge space, four food vendors (including two new vendors to campus, Zen and Taco Cabana), and thirteen reservable spaces such as a black box theater, a legislative assembly room and a dance rehearsal space with a sprung floor.
In addition, the building holds a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold level certification and focuses on sustainability through features such as green roofing and the use of natural day lighting.
Through all of these features, the SAC will serve to enrich student life on campus by building a sense of community and developing opportunities for student leadership and education.
The building will be open from 7 a.m. to 3 a.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 3 a.m. on Sunday.
