William Powers Jr., president of The University of Texas at Austin, is resting at home after being released from St. David’s South Austin Medical Center on Sunday (Feb. 13).
No definite date has been set for his return to the university.

Feb. 9 Update
University President Remains in Stable Condition Today
William Powers Jr., president of The University of Texas at Austin, remains in stable condition today (Feb. 9) at St. David’s South Austin Medical Center.
He is being treated for a pulmonary embolism after being admitted to the hospital yesterday (Feb. 8).
Dr. Paul A. Tucker said Powers is being treated with blood thinners and is expected to remain in the hospital “for a few days.”

University President Is in Stable Condition with a Pulmonary Embolism
William Powers Jr., president of The University of Texas at Austin, is being treated for a pulmonary embolism at St. David’s South Austin Medical Center.
He is in stable condition, according to his physician, Dr. Paul A. Tucker. Dr. Tucker said Powers is being treated with blood thinners and is expected to remain in the hospital “for a few days.”
Powers was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday (Feb. 8) afternoon.
