Ellen Moutos-Lee has been named interim director for the Regional Foundation Library, which is part of the Division of Diversity and Community Engagement (DDCE) at The University of Texas at Austin, effective July 6.
According to Dr. Gregory J. Vincent, vice president for diversity and community engagement, the search for a permanent director will begin immediately.
“Ellen’s knowledge of funding sources and of nonprofits, combined with her many years’ of experience at the library and her customer service orientation make her well qualified to assume the director’s role while we carry out a nationwide search for a new director of the library,” Vincent said.
Moutos-Lee has worked at the Regional Foundation Library for nearly 10 years, helping to connect grant seekers with funding sources. She holds a Master’s of Public Administration.
Director of the library, Allison Supancic, will work on special projects within the division until Aug. 31.
The Regional Foundation Library serves about 3,000 patrons annually. It was established more than 45 years ago by Dr. Robert L. Sutherland, the first president of the Hogg Foundation for Mental Health. In keeping with its original commitment to make information accessible to all, the library is open to everyone free of charge. In December 2007, the library was separated from the Hogg Foundation, becoming part of the DDCE’s Community Engagement Center at 1009 E. 11th St.
