Event: GOVERNING Magazine and the Center for Politics and Governance at the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at The University of Texas at Austin will present “GOVERNING Texas: A Leadership Forum.” This forum is part of a national series designed to prepare public servants for a new era in government by bringing together leaders from across the region for interactive and candid discussions.

Background: Each regional governing forum offers public leaders an opportunity to learn and share best practices in a highly interactive format custom tailored to the specific issues of the host jurisdiction.
The GOVERNING Texas forum will feature keynote addresses and panel discussions focusing on the most important Texas state and local governance issues including implications of the state budget and the staffing shortages associated with retiring baby boomers.
GOVERNING magazine, along with academic experts, former government officials and current policymakers, will offer insight into winning strategies for Texas, distilled from best practices of state and local governments nationwide.
