UT Austin President to Discuss Ideas for Cutting Costs, Generating Revenue

University of Texas at Austin President Bill Powers will address students, faculty, staff and others about a series of recommendations from the university’s Committee on Business Productivity.

University of Texas at Austin President Bill Powers will address students, faculty, staff and others about a series of recommendations from the university’s Committee on Business Productivity. The recommendations are intended to cut costs and generate revenue on the university’s operational side.

Event: Presidential address on business productivity

When: Tuesday, Jan. 29, 10 a.m.

Where: ACES Building, AVAYA Auditorium (room 2.302), Speedway and 24th St.

Media parking is available on Speedway, directly across from the ACES building. Entrance to this section of campus is via San Jacinto Boulevard. (MAP)

The event will be broadcast via streaming video for those who cannot attend.

Background: In April 2012, President Powers convened the Committee on Business Productivity, consisting of 13 accomplished business leaders, to review the university’s operations and to make recommendations on increasing campus efficiency and effectiveness. The committee has completed its report, which will be released to the public at President Powers’ address.
