BACKGROUND: Nearly 5,000 people are expected to attend one of the nation’s largest student-run fashion shows this year at The University of Texas at Austin. The Fusion Fashion Show, which is free and open to the public, will include 120 original runway designs that showcase a range of student innovations such as digital prints, clothing with programmable lights and performance-designed safety garments. Sponsored by the University Co-operative Society, Lexus of Austin, Cotton Incorporated and Russell Korman Fine Jewelers, Fusion prizes will be awarded in categories such as most innovative fashion collection, most marketable fashion collection, best technical collection, best evening gown, best bridal gown and best overall collection of 2015.
