BACKGROUND: Adm. William McRaven is the 11th chancellor of The University of Texas System. Prior to this role, McRaven served as the ninth commander of the U.S. Special Operations Command where he was credited for organizing and executing the raid that killed Osama bin Laden. He retired as a four-star admiral after 37 years as a Navy SEAL.
The annual Glickman Lecture, presented by the Plan II Honors Program, is supported by Julius and Suzan Glickman. Julius Glickman graduated from the Plan II program in 1962 and from the UT Austin School of Law in 1966. While at UT Austin, Glickman was student body president and an active member of the Friars, the Silver Spurs and the Tejas Club.
