Due to deteriorating weather conditions, UT Austin will officially close at 5 p.m. today. This includes evening classes. Questions about other evening activities should be directed to event sponsors.
Essential personnel, defined by www.policies.utexas.edu/policies/emergency-leave, are asked to report as requested by your supervisor.
As the situation progresses, updates specific to closure and reopening will be available through local media, the university’s Facebook page and Twitter feed, the emergency web page (www.utexas.edu/emergency), and by calling the university’s emergency information number, 512-232-9999.
Weather updates are available at http://www.utexas.edu/safety/preparedness/weather/. Current information regarding flooded roads can be found at http://www.atxfloods.com.
As stated previously, university officials will be monitoring this situation overnight and evaluating the weather and flooding conditions in the region as well as on and around campus.
Again, regardless of university decisions, we ask that all of you carefully evaluate your personal situation. If you are concerned about a safe commute during this weather event, coordinate with your supervisor to make appropriate arrangements.
Students who are unable to attend class for similar reasons should contact their professors and instructors to discuss making up any classwork.
Stay dry and stay safe.
