The university Tower will be lit Thursday, July 30 to support a Longhorn Network filming crew.

The UT Tower’s orange glow will shine in the summer night Thursday, July 30. But instead of an outstanding academic accomplishment or athletic feat, the Tower is turning orange for a Longhorn Network photo shoot.

From arriving on campus as freshmen to leaving the Forty Acres with diplomas in hands, Longhorns love taking pictures with the university’s iconic Tower. Tonight, a film crew will record footage of the Tower for the Longhorn Network’s Texas Game Day show.

On the evening of Wednesday, July 29, the Tower will start the night with its normal lighting configuration. At the stroke of midnight Thursday, July 30, the Tower’s lights will turn orange and shine until dawn.

Get your camera ready and use #UTTower to share Tower lighting pictures on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

And if you’re eagerly waiting for the Tower to turn orange after football wins, follow the #UTcountdown to kickoff.
