We asked staff and faculty members who make music to tell us about themselves at Longhornmusicians.com. Here is just a sample of the talented people working alongside us every day.

Clarke Curtis
Department of Art and Art History, 4 years at UT
Curtis plays synths and creates album art for Black Books. You can catch him twice a month at such venues as Mohawk, Cheer Up Charlies and Electric Church.

Glenn Dembowski
Office of the Associate Dean for Research, 23 years at UT
Dembowski is a singer-songwriter who also plays guitar for Viewers Like Ewe and his solo project, Scooter Holiday. Catch him weekly at Dozen Street and Sassy’s Vegetarian Soul Food.

Nate Ivicic
Jackson School of Geosciences, 17 years at UT
Ivicic plays acoustic guitar and sings as a solo act and also is part of the band West Travis. He performs weekly at Blind Pig Pub, among other gigs.

Charles Jones
Moody College of Communication, 9 years at UT
Jones sings and plays guitar, harmonica and keytar under the name Southpaw Jones. You can catch his folk-pop act annually at the Cactus Café with Matt the Electrician.

Michael Stewart Nelson
Applied Research Laboratories, 9 years at UT
Nelson plays bass for Southern Joker, which performs occasionally around Austin.

Jake Perlman
KUT Radio, 4 years at UT
Perlman plays drums and does production for Hand Signals and the Barton Hills Choir. You can catch him monthly at various venues around Austin.

Ben Post
University Development Office, 15 years at UT
Post plays bass, synths and vocals with the Union Jacks, Tallest Towers and Mass Minor. You can catch him at clubs such as the Highball, Speakeasy and Baker Street Pub.

Department of Educational Leadership and Policy, 12 years at UT
Reddick plays bass guitar and provides backing vocals for Dëëp Stätë. They play around Austin and at departmental parties.

David Ring
Dell Medical School, 4 years at UT
Ring plays guitar and sings with Newning, a group that performs several times a year at charitable events.

Brian Willey
University Development Office, 14 years at UT
Willey is a singer-songwriter who also plays guitar and keyboards for the Black Drumset. Catch them monthly at clubs such as Mohawk, Cheer Up Charlies and Hotel Vegas.

Cole Wilson
Annette Strauss Institute for Civic Life, 1 year at UT
Wilson plays drums for Loop One. The reggae-rock band is currently on hiatus but still holds regular jam sessions.

Fuller sings occasionally with groups such as Conspirare Symphonic Choir, St. Mary’s Schola Cantorum and Tower Singers.

Hollingshead sings with various classical and jazz projects around Austin.

Melissa Huebsch

Huebsch is a soprano who sings several times a year with such groups as Conspirare, Panoramic Voices and at the Victoria Bach Festival.

Savich plays oboe with Perpetual Motion Quartet and Austin Cinematic Symphony. You can catch her at classical music house parties and other Austin-area concerts.

Butler School of Music, 6 years at UT
Stephens sings opera, chamber music and choir at Austin churches and the Butler School of Music.

Dell Medical School, 3 years at UT
Tofflemire plays viola with the Austin Civic Orchestra, which plays concerts at various locations throughout the year, including the Texas Rising Stars concert in March with students from the Butler School of Music.

Katie Beth Willis
Department of Government, 9 years at UT
Willis sings with the choral group Panoramic Voices as well as with the choir at Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church and as a soloist. Panoramic Voices performs several times a year around Austin.

Ryan Anderson

Anderson is a composer, vocalist and guitarist with Sugar Trio. You can catch him regularly at Craft Pride and other Austin venues.

Jamie Bowman
Environmental Health and Safety, 16 years at UT
Bowman plays a variety of instruments for Jamie and the Marauders. You can check out his blues-experimental-funk sounds on the band’s Bandcamp page.

Ibarra is a songwriter and plays bass, guitar, other string instruments and clarinet. He is currently on hiatus but has played at the Continental Club, Gruene Hall and Antone’s and used to have a weekly gig at the Jackalope.

Johnson is bassist with McLemore Avenue, Nakia and the Blues Grifters and Freddie Steady Krc. He plays six to eight gigs per month across Texas, the U.S. and Europe.

Clippard is a percussionist and the director of Austin Samba, which performs throughout the year at parades, festivals and concerts, most notably Carnaval Brasileiro.

Gilden plays trumpet with Huerta Culture as well as the Mazel Tov Kocktail Hour. Catch him at such spots as Sahara Lounge, Craft Pride and Flamingo Cantina.

Vinezof contributes vocals and plays percussion with Maracatu Texas, Grupo Massa and Seu Jacinto. You can catch him weekly at such venues at Central Market, Whisler’s and Geraldine’s.

Lindenberg is singer-songwriter for indie-pop duo Robsie. You can catch her at occasional gigs at spots such as Dozen Street and Oskar Blues Brewery.

College of Liberal Arts, 3 years at UT
Magorrian plays guitar and sings backup vocals for Large Brush Collection and Fertility House. You can catch him several times a month at Red River Street bars such as Mohawk, Stubbs, Cheer Up Charlies and Swan Dive.

Whitehair sings with electronic rock group Scorpio Rising. You can catch the group a couple of times a month at local clubs such as Valhalla, the Lost Well and the Parlor.

Molin is a singer/songwriter and guitarist who plays as J Molin. You can hear his folk/rock/reggae sounds monthly, often in outdoor spaces along Waller Creek, in Little Stacy Park or on the back hill at Barton Springs.
