The Tower at The University of Texas at Austin will shine orange the evening of Monday, May 7, to recognize the women’s rowing team’s Big 12 Championship. The victory took place Saturday, April 28 in Oklahoma City, Okla.
The Longhorns recorded their fourth-straight Big 12 Conference title, winning three of six races on the Oklahoma River and edging host Oklahoma by one point to claim the title.
Rowing joins three other university programs during the 2011-12 athletics season to capture a Big 12 Conference championship, including volleyball, men’s swimming and diving and women’s tennis.
