Background: Since its inception, the annual student fashion show has grown from an audience of 500 to an event that draws about 5,000 attendees per year. The show, organized by the University Fashion Group, is judged by a panel of industry professionals, retailers, educators and consumers. Student designers combine science with art, business and marketing as they prepare to present complete collections of garments, including – for the first time – sustainable fashion designs. Designers were asked to recycle previously worn “fast fashion” garments, which are usually worn for a single season, into new pieces of active wear clothing.
At the end of the show, the judges will announce winners for most innovative collection, most marketable collection, best technical collection, best evening wear, best bridal gown, best sustainable active wear and best overall collection.
Dimension will be broadcast live on the Longhorn Network beginning at 7:30 p.m.
