The Harlan J. Smith Scholars program takes undergraduate astronomy students out west to observe and capture data on one of the world’s largest telescopes.
Today, we announced a proposed new Core Curriculum designed to give every undergraduate a common, rigorous, and balanced foundation across the arts and humanities, social sciences, and STEM.
Developed through months of work by faculty, students, and academic leaders, the proposed Core reflects a simple idea: every Longhorn should share a foundational education that prepares them to think critically, exercise sound judgment, pursue truth, and lead with purpose.
The Core is an important piece of delivering on our promise of a first-class education.
