The energy on a college campus at the beginning of the year is infectious. It comes like a big wave, starting with residence halls opening, and balances to a steady, joyful hum the week after that first class bell rings.
Here on the Forty Acres, we kick off each academic year with the same loud, proud Longhorn spirit representative of our community – a community of students, faculty and staff who are always ready to take on new challenges, make new friends, support one another and push ourselves in every way.
Between an energizing pep talk, tons of local food, college and school welcome events, student org fairs, parties on the Main Mall and a ballooned Hook ‘Em dancing around, we saw both new and established traditions in action that began days before the semester started.
