Welcome Back, Longhorns!

Celebrating the beginning of the 2026-27 academic year

It’s the start of a new academic year and a return to the excitement of full classrooms, lab spaces and libraries all across campus. Before the semester gets going, check out some of the ways Longhorns have been prepping for the upcoming semester and celebrating the start of the new school year.

Welcoming the Class of 2030 at Mooov-In

Friday, we welcomed our incoming class of students at Mooov-In as they began their time on the Forty Acres. This year saw a record number of applications, with over 10,000 Longhorns joining our newest class this fall.

Gone to Texas

Sunday, the semester formally began with our annual Gone to Texas celebration, which marks the beginning of every Longhorn’s journey on the Forty Acres. University leaders, the Longhorn Band and Texas Cheer and Pom welcomed incoming students during the evening before their first day.

First Day of Class

Monday marked the first day of classes and a return to a campus full of students, faculty and staff. Whether it was freshmen starting college or seniors on their final sprint toward graduation, Longhorns were excited to be here. Check out some of the cool things that students did during the summer while away from the Forty Acres.
