John Harold (Hal) Box, dean emeritus of the School of Architecture, died on May 8 at the age of 81 following a lengthy illness.

The Tower will be dark the evening of May 9 in memory of Senior Vice President Shirley Bird Perry, 74, who died May 4.

The Texas Exes are pleased to announce the 2011 University of Texas Distinguished Alumnus Award recipients. Each year six alumni who have distinguished themselves professionally and through service to the university are honored with the award.
