UT Remembers will honor more than 170 members of The University of Texas at Austin community — students and current and retired faculty members and staffers — who passed away during the previous year.

Three faculty members at UT Austin have been named to the university’s respected Academy of Distinguished Teachers for 2015, said Gregory L. Fenves, executive vice president and provost.

The ExxonMobil Foundation has donated nearly $1.5 million to UT Austin to help boost business, engineering and geosciences programs and support the foundation’s mission to encourage women and minorities to pursue careers as scientists and engineers. 

Senior Vice Provost and Dean of Graduate Studies Judith H. Langlois has been named interim provost. She will begin May 26 and serve in that position while the university searches for a permanent provost.

The UT System Board of Regents named Gregory L. Fenves the 29th president of UT. His term begins June 3.
