The UT turtle pond is more than a campus landmark 🐢🔬
For the past four years, UT students have been getting hands-on experience studying the red-eared sliders that call campus home, from collecting samples to tracking and analyzing data. Their latest study found that UT’s turtles have a distinct set of microbes when compared with turtles from other Austin area ponds, and the research is just beginning.
