The University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing is celebrating National Nurses Month with an Honor a Nurse fundraising program to give recognition to nurses who have made a difference.

The Honor a Nurse program supports the Nursing Alumni Reunion Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarships for students with financial need. The School of Nursing will recognize gifts by sending a personalized card to the honored nurses and recognizing them on the school’s Web site, in its electronic newsletter and on the School of Nursing Alumni Network Facebook page.

“By making a tax-deductible gift to the School of Nursing through its Honor a Nurse program, you will not only be supporting the scholarship fund but will have the opportunity to honor a nurse who has helped change someone’s life,” said Andria Brannon, director of development for the school.

“What better a way to acknowledge the compassion, professionalism and dedication of nurses than to show appreciation to these men and women who have devoted their lives to caring for us and keeping us healthy. This is your chance to return the kindness that they share every day.”

May is National Nurses Month. To make a donation online, fill out the Honor a Nurse contribution form. Visit the Honor a Nurse page for additional ways to give. Donations will be accepted until May 30.
