As part of a campus-wide effort to better coordinate and expand services for undergraduates, the School of Undergraduate Studies (UGS) is pleased to welcome its newest addition, the Sanger Learning and Career Center.

The Sanger Center has joined with UGS as a welcome partner in efforts to improve academic performance, bridge the gap between high school and college and provide early access to career counseling for our undeclared students.

“Aligning the resources of the Sanger Learning and Career Center with the academic initiatives provided by Undergraduate Studies will benefit our students by allowing exciting possibilities for collaboration,” says Paul Woodruff, Dean of the School of Undergraduate Studies. “The school, created in 2006 to improve the academic success of UT’s undergraduates, seems a perfect home for the Sanger Center.”

UGS oversees the education shared by all undergraduates at The University of Texas at Austin. This includes maintaining a high-quality core curriculum, offering strategic advising services that help students find quicker paths to degrees that match their academic and career interests, creating a strong first-year experience through small learning communities and making the university’s many resources more accessible. UGS is also the initial home for students who choose not to select another college or school upon entering the university.

The Sanger Learning and Career Center was previously part of the Division of Student Affairs and has always worked closely with UGS and the other colleges and schools on campus to provide high-quality tutoring and review sessions, workshops to improve study skills and career planning and counseling to the university’s student population.
