The Tower at The University of Texas at Austin will shine orange the evening of Friday, March 23, to recognize the women’s volleyball team’s Big 12 Championship this past season.

The Longhorns went 25-5 on the season and won the university’s 18th conference title for women’s volleyball (fifth Big 12 championship) with a 15-1 mark. It was the program’s fourth conference title under head coach Jerritt Elliott.

Texas made its NCAA-best sixth-straight regional final appearance and finished the season ranked No. 4 nationally in the final AVCA and Volleyball Magazine polls. Three Longhorn players earned All-America honors for the 2011 season: senior middle blocker Rachael Adams, sophomore outside hitter Bailey Webster and freshman outside hitter Haley Eckerman. Webster and Eckerman are among five starters and 10 letterwinners who will return for Texas for the 2012 campaign.
