The Texas Longhorns Men’s Track and Field team captured the 2013 Big 12 Indoor Championship on Feb. 23 and 24 in Ames, Iowa. The eighth-ranked Longhorns won their sixth Big 12 Indoor title and their 11th conference title, dating back to the first Southwest Conference Championships in 1974. Four team members competed in the 2013 NCAA Indoor Championships on March 9 in Fayetteville, Ark. Learn more about the three who won hardware.
Coach Bubba Thornton was voted Big 12 Coach of the Year for the ninth time. Under Thornton, the Longhorns have won nine conference titles and finished in the top 15 of the NCAA Indoor Championships in 14 of his 17 previous seasons.
The University will light the Tower burnt orange March 21 for the team’s Big 12 Conference Championship.
