The Tower will be lit orange tonight in celebration of the Texas women’s victory at the Big 12 Indoor Track and Field Championships. This is the Longhorns’ sixth Big 12 championship title and first since 2006. Over the course of the two-day meet held at Iowa State Feb. 28-March 1, the team won five events and posted 147 points. Senior Marielle Hall collected 20 of those points, garnering the high point scorer award.
The win was propelled by the individual victories of sophomore Morolake Akinosun, junior Ashley Spencer, senior Shanay Briscoe and sophomore Kaitlin Petrillose.
