Your Guide to Longhorns Sports During Winter Break

While many students de-stress after final exams, student athletes are focused on giving it their all. Cheer on the Longhorns at these sporting events.

The No. 2 seed Texas Volleyball won’t be on the Forty Acres during the winter break, but they will be competing for a national title in the NCAA’s annual tournament.

The nationally ranked Texas Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams will play on campus this holiday season, letting fans see firsthand the new Texas Basketball gameday experience, including an in-arena DJ, interactive hoop squad and more.

The Texas Men’s Basketball team takes on Stanford at 6 p.m. on Dec. 23, and the halftime show will feature a performance by Acrodunk, America’s Favorite Dunk Team. The team will then face Rice at 7 p.m. on Dec. 29.

The Texas Women’s Basketball team plays Rice on Dec. 30 at 7 p.m. and then takes on Kansas at 7 p.m. on Jan. 3.

The dates and times for all events are subject to change, and updated information is available on the Texas Athletics website, which also includes more information about the basketball games and the option to buy tickets.

The Longhorns football team, meanwhile, will make its 53rd bowl appearance December 29 in the 2014 AdvoCare V100 Texas Bowl against the Arkansas Razorbacks. The game, which will be played at NRG Stadium in Houston and televised on ESPN, starts at 8 p.m., and tickets may be requested online.
