MEDIA ADVISORY: First Day on the Job for UT President Gregory L. Fenves

Gregory L. Fenves, the 29th president of The University of Texas at Austin, will be available to discuss his vision for the university and his impressions during first day on the job.

EVENT: Gregory L. Fenves, the 29th president of The University of Texas at Austin, will be available to discuss his vision for the university and plans for moving UT forward.

WHEN/WHERE: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, at The University of Texas at Austin, Texas Union, Governors’ Room (3.116)

BACKGROUND: President Fenves will spend his first day on the job meeting with key constituents and stakeholders.

His morning will include breakfast with university staff members and meetings with East Austin community leaders and Dell Medical School department leaders. After lunch with students, Fenves will head to Mayor Steve Adler’s office, followed by a visit with Gov. Greg Abbott at the Capitol. After spending time in his office, Fenves will end the day meeting with one of the university’s most devoted Longhorns fans, attorney Joe Jamail, and then hosting UT Austin faculty members for dinner in his office.
