WHAT: Aspiring undergraduate student entrepreneurs will pitch their ideas before celebrity startup experts, local venture capitalists and community members as they compete for a $25,000 investment prize and the chance to continue their business after graduation. This year’s special guests will be Mark McClain, CEO of SailPoint; Tim Ferriss, author of “The 4-Hour Workweek”; and Bob Metcalfe, inventor of Ethernet and a professor of innovation and entrepreneurship at The University of Texas at Austin.

WHEN: 5-9 p.m. Thursday, May 3

WHERE: Lady Bird Johnson Auditorium, 2313 Red River St.

MEDIA: The event is free and open to the public. Limited surface parking will be available in Lot 40. Additional parking is available in the San Jacinto Garage, 401 San Jacinto Blvd. or the Manor Garage, 2017 Robert Dedman Drive. Campus parking map.

BACKGROUND: Participating students are members of the Longhorn Startup Lab. Students from computer science, business, communications and other majors form teams and create a technology startup as part of the class. Longhorn Startup Demo Day is the culmination of the students’ spring semester lab.
