MEDIA ADVISORY: State of the University Address Will Look to the Future of UT Austin’s Impact

WHAT: President Gregory L. Fenves will reflect on recent achievements and outline his priorities for The University of Texas at Austin during the annual State of the University Address.

WHEN: Wednesday, Sept. 18, 3–4 p.m.

WHERE: B. Iden Payne Theatre in the Winship Drama Building

MEDIA: The event is open to the public. A limited number of parking spots are available near the theater for TV stations with equipment. For news media without cameras, free parking is available in the San Jacinto Garage on campus.

Dedicated seating in the auditorium is available for media representatives, but those with cameras must set up in the back of the theater. A mult-box will be provided.

BACKGROUND: For generations, The University of Texas at Austin has thrived because of its commitment to students. With that in mind, President Fenves will outline his vision for the future of UT, including initiatives and collaborations related to new student housing and financial aid. In 2033, UT will celebrate its 150th anniversary. The president’s remarks will look to the future of this anniversary and how UT can be positioned to make the greatest impact on Texas, the nation and the world.
