Two scientists from The University of Texas at Austin are among the 2011 recipients of Presidential Early Career Awards for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE), the highest honor bestowed by the United States government on science and engineering professionals in the early stages of their independent research careers.

The College of Natural Sciences this fall welcomes a dynamic group of leaders, from department chairs to deans, all of whom are poised to take the college and its academic departments in new directions:

Luis H. Zayas, a professor at the George Warren Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis, Mo., has been appointed dean of the School of Social Work at The University of Texas at Austin.
