Two decades after the North American Free Trade Agreement opened the flow of trade among Canada, Mexico and the United States, economic integration remains at the forefront of international discussion.

The University of Texas at Austin has risen to 21st place in Kiplinger’s Personal Finance’s list of 100 best values in public colleges for 2014. The ranking cites four-year schools that combine outstanding education with economic value.

Due to inclement weather, The University of Texas at Austin will open at 10 a.m. today, Friday, Dec. 6. Classes scheduled for before 10 a.m. today have been rescheduled for the same time Monday, Dec. 9.

The university community is shocked and saddened by the death of Ronnie Smith in Benghazi. Ronnie was a proud Texas Ex who earned a master’s degree in chemistry at The University of Texas at Austin in 2006. He was an enthusiastic and outgoing student.

The official rivalry may have died in 2011, but an upstart group of Longhorns and Aggies hatched a plan to reunite the longtime foes.

The university will recognize the student team who won the 8th annual Student Cluster Competition at this year’s Supercomputing (SC13) conference with a Tower lighting Dec. 2.

On Sunday, Dec. 1, the Tower will shine burnt orange in celebration of Volleyball’s Big 12 Championship. This is the third consecutive Big 12 title for the team.

Convocation ceremonies by schools and colleges at The University of Texas at Austin on Dec. 7 and 8 will honor about 3,064 students who will receive degrees at the end of the fall semester.
