The University of Texas at Austin is ranked No. 27 in the 2013 Times Higher Education World Reputation Rankings, a comparison of the world’s top 100 most powerful university brands. The ranking is a five-point climb for the university, which ranked No. 32 in 2012.

It’s our own little July 4! Texas Independence Day is March 2, and the tower will shine orange in recognition of the 177th anniversary of independence.

On Saturday, Feb. 23, more than 1,000 Longhorns volunteered in an underserved neighborhood in Austin, landscaping, painting and providing health screening tests. Read more.

Hunt in El Paso to thank contributors for their generosity and to encourage the community to help meet Hunt’s gift challenge.

The University of Texas at Austin’s Explore UT begins with thousands of school children from across the state stepping from buses to visit the biggest open house in Texas. The day ends several hours later with many of those children coming together to form a giant map of Texas for the class photo.

Gold medal Olympic sprinter, humanitarian and Texas Ex Sanya Richards-Ross will deliver the commencement address during the 130th Spring Commencement at The University of Texas at Austin.

The former mayor of Atlanta, who recently joined the LBJ School as a visiting professor, will speak about the second phase of civil rights in her keynote address.

Executive Vice President and Provost Steven Leslie announced this week that he plans to step down from his administrative duties effective Aug. 31 to return to research and teaching. He has served as provost since January 2007, before which he was dean of the College of Pharmacy.

Scholars representing a broad range of countries and cultures are among the recipients of 2012-2013 Donald D. Harrington Fellowships at The University of Texas at Austin.
