UT Austin President Gregory L. Fenves has established the Task Force on Historical Representation of Statuary to discuss the future of the Jefferson Davis statue on campus.

The university is ranked No. 19 in the world for high-impact science, according to the Nature Index, which tracks publication in the world’s top research journals — the latest in a series of global rankings that recognize UT Austin among the world’s elite research universities. 

The university will officially reopen at 7 a.m. today, Wednesday, June 17, 2015, and resume normal operations.

The university continues to monitor the weather with our regional partners. 

Due to deteriorating weather conditions, UT Austin will close at 5 p.m. on June 16.

Gregory L. Fenves, president of UT Austin, is commissioning a complete and independent review of the Texas Athletics Student Services division, which provides all student-athletes with academic guidance and resources.
